Dumpster & Recycle Day: Volunteers Needed

Help your neighbors lighten the load! On Saturday, September 26th, 10am to 3pm, four North Portland neighborhoods (Arbor Lodge, Kenton, Overlook, and Piedmont) come together at Arbor Lodge Park for our annual community Dumpster and Recycle Day. Neighbors drive up, and our volunteer crews do the rest: unloading vehicles and sorting items into the right bins so as much as possible stays out of the landfill.
What volunteers do:
Greet neighbors at check-in and take donations
Unload cars and trucks (stay-in-your-vehicle service)
Sort items into metal, electronics, styrofoam, household goods, and garbage
Keep partner stations stocked and running smoothly
No experience needed. Just bring a willingness to lift, sort, and be friendly.
Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty.
Gloves and good energy welcome.
Sign up for one shift or several. You're welcome to grab as many slots as you like. Every hour helps. This event is made possible by a grant from Metro, our local sponsors, and volunteers like you.
